Do I have to get my car serviced by a main dealer?

You are not obliged (since October 2003) to get your car serviced by a franchised dealer during the warranty period.

You must though get it serviced according to the manufacturer's recommended schedule and criteria using only manufacturer approved parts. Here at Saxon Bridge you can rest assured that we fully adhere to these requirements to ensure your vehicle runs exactly as it should. We have full access to all manufacturers technical data and we will use either genuine parts from your vehicles manufacturer or service parts approved for use by them.

We will provide you with a full service invoice and details of all actions carried out by us. We will also stamp your service book to keep your service records up-to-date. 

The legislation only applies to the part of the warranty offered by the manufacturer, you should still get warranty work undertaken by the franchised dealer as it is easier for them to deal directly with the manufacturer.
